Ente Keralam is hosting Toddy Curry festival from 10th to 26th of March at its outlets in Anna Nagar and Poes Garden. Ente Keralam’s Toddy Curry festival features unexplored delicacies of Kerala cuisine. The festival highlights the unexplored delicacies and spicy bites from the famous toddy shops or native alcohol selling shops. The festival is being anchored by seasoned cook Radha  Krishnan and Omana whose expertise lies in this special cuisine.

Toddy shops are small drinking establishments where palm toddy, a mildly alcoholic beverage made from the sap of palm trees served along with food. The dishes served with toddy are very spicy and the main signature dish of this cuisine is the famous tapioca with fish curry. Now Chennai foodies will get to experience these unexplored delicacies at Ente Keralam’s Toddy Curry festival which features the timeless toddy curry dishes prepared by Radha Krishnan and Omana who have travelled from Kerala to present this vibrant and fiery cuisine.

The exotic menu consists of authentic soups, starters, curries, starch and desserts to highlight this unique cuisine at its best. One can relish the rare dishes like Meen peera (fish cooked in a coarsely ground coconut mixture with tamarind), Vaala mulagitta curry (Vaala or knife fish cooked in a masala made of red chilly powder, ginger, shallots and tamarind),  Chemballi Pollichathu (Chemballi -Red snapper fish from the backwaters wrapped and cooked in banana leaf) etc. The delicious dishes can be coupled with special dishes such as Kallappam (A round griddle cooked ground rice, coconut and Jeera based bread), Unakka kappa (Dehydrated tapioca preparation) or Chiratta puttu (Puttu made inside a coconut shell instead of the regular cylindrical mould) for enjoying the meal to the fullest.
