​RAMAYANA Goes On Air From Today, 28 March 2020

OTT platforms and television channels are making the best possible efforts to keep their viewers entertained owing to the 21-day countrywide lockdown and now one of the most iconic telly serials, Ramayana, is coming back on television.

Recently, Prasar Bharti CEO Shashi Shekhar had hinted that iconic shows of the 80s Mahabharata and Ramayana might just return to the small screen. Now Prakash Javedekar, Minister of Information and Broadcasting has confirmed in his tweets.

The minister shared, “Happy to announce that on public demand, we are starting retelecast of ‘Ramayana’ from tomorrow, Saturday, March 28 in DD National, One episode in morning 9 am to 10 am, another in the evening 9 pm to 10 pm. @narendramodi @PIBIndia @DDNational.”

Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayana and B R Chopra’s Mahabharata made their way to the television screens during the late 1980s to mid-1990’s. They were a treat to the audience and widely enjoyed by all on Sundays.

Recently the cast of Ramayana reunited on The Kapil Sharma Show to celebrate 33 years of its airing. In the episode, several interesting revelations were made by Arun Govil (Ram), Dipika (Sita) and Sunil Lahri (Lakman) that kept the audience hooked.
