The colorful festival of India is about to begin and the celebration would be incomplete without the colors. As you might be celebrating Holi 2021 at your home, you might have probably planned for parties. When it comes to Holi parties, colors play a major role in it. If you choose artificial colors available in the market, then they would show their true color immediately as it negatively impacts your skin, hair, eye, and internal body. Instead of choosing artificial colors, go for the natural ones which could be prepared from the ingredients at your homes such as veggies, leaves, and flowers. This choice of natural ones would make you celebrate eco-friendly Holi by preparing your own natural and safe colors. So, let’s check them out!
YELLOW: When it comes to yellow, you do not need to run anywhere to bring it but you have turmeric and gram flour at your pantry. So, you could use 1 cup of turmeric powder and two cups of gram flour to get dry Gulal powder. On the other hand, you could also use yellow-colored flowers such as marigold, yellow chrysanthemums, and the petals of Amaltas. These must be blend together with the required amount of water to enjoy the wet colors on the day of Holi.
RED: To get the bright red colors, you have to pick the red hibiscus flowers and leave them to dry, and then grind them to get a fine powder. Alternatively, you could use red sandalwood and red rose petals as well. If in case, you wish to have wet red colors, then all you have to do is to boil peels of pomegranate in the water.
BLUE: Blue colors are literally a vibe, that brings out the joyfulness in you. To get a blue color, you have to use powdered blue hibiscus flower petals and rice flour. When it comes to wet blue color, you have to mix the crushed and dried jacaranda flowers with the required amount of water.
GREEN: Nature’s color would offer you an amazing celebration with the help of natural ingredients. To prepare green Gulal powder, you have to use henna powder. You could also use spinach, coriander, and mint leaves and allow them to dry and grind to get the green powder. If you wish for wet colors, then boil spinach leaves and strain the mixture. This could be the same for the neem leaves to get the green solution.
MAGENTA: So, how many of you love magenta? Prepare it by yourself to enjoy this Holi. You gotta soak sliced beetroots in water and then boil them and keep it aside overnight. Also, red onions could be the best counterpart for this color.
ORANGE: It is believed that Lord Krishna used to play Holi with Palash flowers which have also been known to inculcate several medicinal properties. Palash flowers would blossom at their best during March. To get the yellowish-orange, you have to soak “the flame of the forest” flowers in the water overnight to get the orange color, or else you could boil it intensely to get a yellowish-orange shade. You could also use pomegranate peels and add them to a bowl of hot water and leave it aside for about 4 to 5 hours. This would give you a saffron-orange solution. So, you could enjoy a fantastic Holi by going natural.
