It’s a good news for all the citizens of Mumbai; Akshay Kumar on Mumbai Police getting Segway Scooters

Actor Akshay Kumar, who attended a Mumbai Police event on Saturday, has said that it’s good news for all the citizens of Mumbai that police personnel are getting Segway Scooters for patrolling which will ensure safety and security of the city.

On the occasion of raising day of Maharashtra Police, Segway (electric) Scooter was given to the Mumbai Police personnel for the protection of the Bandra sea shore. The Segway vehicle is being handed over to the police for the security of Mumbai’s seaside so that the police on the seashore of Mumbai can easily patrol and fix the security system.

Maharashtra home minister Anil Deshmukh, Mumbai Police chief Param Bir Singh, Local BJP MLA Ashish Shelar, Aaditya Thackeray, Minister for Tourism, Environment & Protocol – Govt of Maharashtra and Vishwas Nangare Patil – Joint Commissioner of police ( Law &Order),Mumbai City were also present at the ceremony on Saturday in Mumbai.

Akshay Kumar has a special connection with Mumbai Police as he has played the role of Mumbai Police officer in several films which includes ‘Mohra’, ‘Main Khiladi Tu Anari’, ‘Khakee’ and ‘Aan: Men at Work’.

Addressing the people and media who were present at the event, Akshay Kumar said, “I am so happy and so proud that Mumbai Police is going to get a vehicle through which they will be able to control a lot of things over here. I think that’s good news for all the citizens of Mumbai. I am thankful to Mumbai Police and Maharashtra Government for making a part of this ceremony”.

Addressing the people and media who were present at the event, Mumbai Police chief Param Bir Singh said, “It’s indeed a big day in terms of policing in this area of Mumbai. I think it will not only increase mobility but also visibility and effectiveness of the Police. It will also give a better image to Mumbai Police. Every day and every year, we are trying to modernise ourselves and this is a big step in that direction. I am sure with this gadget which is being introduced in Mumbai Police; we will be able to give better service to citizens of this area, so I would like to congratulate citizens of Bandra on this occasion. I would like to urge them to keep supporting and cooperating with us to keep the city safe.”

On film front, Akshay Kumar is awaiting release of his upcoming cop-action drama film ‘Sooryavanshi’ in which he is playing role of chief of the Anti-Terrorism Squad who is on a mission to prevent terrorist attack in Mumbai. The film is directed by Rohit Shetty and it also stars Katrina Kaif, Ajay Devgn, Ranveer Singh, Gulshan Grover and Jackie Shroff in key roles.
