Rani Mukerji announces her next film titled ‘Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway’ on her 43rd birthday

Actress Rani Mukerji celebrated her 43rd birthday on Sunday and on the special occasion; she gave her fans a surprise gift – her new film titled ‘Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway.’ The film will be directed by Ashima Chibber and is produced by Zee Studios and local Emmay Entertainment. During an Instagram session on Saturday, March 20, Rani had revealed that she will announce her next film on her birthday (March 21).

While the plot details have been kept under wraps, according to some media reports, the project is based on the controversial 2011 true story of an Indian couple whose children were taken away from them by Norwegian welfare services.

On Saturday, March 20, on her birthday eve, Rani Mukerji interacted with her fans through Yash Raj Films’ Instagram handle. During the session, the actress talked about her 25 years in Bollywood and how she is still learning. Talking about films, she spoke about her experience of shooting ‘Bunty Aur Babli 2’ with Saif Ali Khan, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Sharvari Wagh. She also said that she will announce a new film today, March 21.

Rani Mukerji made her acting debut in 1996 with Bengali film ‘Biyer Phool’ when she was just 16. She later appeared in Hindi film ‘Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat’ in the same year. She is a recipient of seven Filmfare Awards and is known for films including ‘Yuva’, ‘Black’, ‘Saathiya’ ‘Mardaani’, ‘Mardaani 2’ No One Killed Jessica, ‘Hichki’ and many others.

Apart from ‘Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway’, Rani will next be seen in Yash Raj Films Productions crime comedy film ‘Bunty Aur Babli 2’ which is directed by Varun V. Sharma.  The film serves as a spiritual sequel to the 2005 film ‘Bunty Aur Babli’. It is scheduled for release on 23 April 2021.
