IT WAS ALL ABOUT BODY POSITIVITY AT PHOENIX MARKETCITY!
Phoenix MarketCity hosted the launch of a unique and altruistic campaign, ‘Love Every Body’, on Thursday evening.
The campaign was spearheaded by Mallika Angela Chaudhuri who embraced the different and unique body types among all of us, thus; driving the slogan of the campaign ‘No Body Superior, No Body Inferior, Love Every Body’.
The essence of the campaign was artfully captured in a creative calendar launched by well-known Tamil actor Jiiva, through the photographs taken by renowned fashion photographer, G. Venket Ram.
The Love Every Body Campaign engaged the audience with a riveting debate chaired by esteemed panelists such as Dr. Mini Rao (Psychologist), Tina Vincent (Designer), Abrar Zahoor (Actor) Dr. Sam Paul (Entrepreneur) and Amitash Pradhan (Actor) whose presence demonstrated support towards the liberal crusade. The personalities passionately debated about the manner in which gender-body stereotyping has largely dictated the way in which we perceive our own beauty; and the beauty of others; whilst engaging in the audience.
To further draw the attention of the attendees, the campaign had an open panel discussion that brought to light, the retarding false notions about ‘beauty’ as portrayed in the media and demystified the ‘ideal beauty standards. The stimulating discussion shed light on the manner on how body shaming has affected and continues to affect the youth today.
Speaking on the occasion, Actor Jiiva shared his thoughts by stating “This is a great initiative by Mallika and I am happy to be part of the ‘Love Every Body’ campaign. We must all remember that body shapes and sizes are individualistic and need not conform to any one’s beauty standards, but own, so embrace you body irrespective of the shape, size”
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Mini Rao addressed the audience and said, ‘Many individuals are striving to achieve a physique or body that resembles the actors in the film industry. These notions have a strong psychological impact that creates a debilitating self image especially for the youth. This situation can be addressed through cognitive behavior therapy that will help them to transform the manner in which they perceive themselves. ’
The campaign was extremely well-received by the audience and ended on a positive note as everyone wholly appreciated the driving thought behind the campaign.
