Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap who plays the lead in ‘Chhuri’ along with Surveen Chawla and Tisca Chopra were spotted at a press conference of the Royal Stag Barrel Select Large Short Films’s ‘Chhuri’ on Tuesday. During interaction the actor-director Kashyap said, he completely surrendered as an actor for the film.
Anurag who has also acted in feature films like ‘Akira’ was asked how does to manage the two different sides of himself as a director and actor, he said, “Our director was Mansi for the film, I took instructions from her. Because when I am the director, I want my actors to trust me and be ready to be exploited (laughs). So, when I came to their set I told them to exploit me as much as you want. I completely surrendered as an actor on the film’s set and they did it.”
Co- actor Surveen said the reason they got Anurag to play the lead is because “he is manly enough to take a joke.”
Anurag was asked if these controversies created around movies do more harm than good and if they are necessary for a film’s publicity, he said, “they are actually created by media. They aren’t necessary or essential expect for what people are trying to show in the films. But the problem is media needs controversies to fill the news space, so they create it themselves.”
‘Chhuri’ features the story of a couple where the philandering husband has an affair outside of his marriage. The plot of the movie will create curiosity in the minds of the viewer when the wife confronts the mistress and an unusual and surprising twist transpires.
Anurag is currently busy with promotions for his upcoming film ‘Mukkabaaz’ scheduled to release on 12th January commercially.
