MasterChef Australia: Fans & Favourites, streaming exclusively on Disney+ Hotstar, enters grand Finale: Here are the Top three

After almost three months of pressure tests, mystery boxes, and elimination challenges, Australia’s favourite cooking show, MasterChef Australia: Fans & Favourites, is coming to a glorious end. With the grand finale premiering on Disney+ Hotstar, Sarah Todd, Billie McKay and Daniel Lamble was declared the top 3 contestants after the elimination of veteran Julie Goodwin and Portuguese culinary queen Keyma Vasquez Montero. Series judges Melissa Leong, Jock Zonfrillo and Andy Allen are also set to taste-test every dish as it’s plated up to determine who will be the season’s winner.

While Billie, who made it straight to the semi-finals after she marvelled at the judges with her inspirational Nan’s Peaches, knows precisely what it feels like to hold up a winning plate of victory while the other two will be battling as hard as they can to make it to the top spot.

Here’s a little more about the top three for you to root for the best:

MasterChef Australia

Billie McKay

Stepping back into the MasterChef kitchen after winning the season 7 title, Billie was inquisitive to explore her love for creating dishes. To her surprise, as soon as she wielded her apron and ladle, it all came back to her through her journey in the competition this year. She blew away the judges and audience at home with her ability to craft sublime dishes and unexpected flavour pairings.

Though she has found herself in a few Pressure Tests throughout the season, Billie never let her fans see her break a sweat. Instead, her signature cool, calm and collected nature saw her skate through eliminations time and time again.

Can Billie become the first Aussie in history to hold two MasterChef titles?

Daniel Lamble

Out of everyone, no one is more surprised that Daniel is in the final three than Daniel himself. The last remaining Fan of the season, Daniel, came into the MasterChef kitchen with a vague love of food and some very interesting tacos. Now, weeks later, Daniel has thrown himself into the world of fine dining, flourished in his playful yet well-executed approach to challenges, and is almost unrecognisable from the man he was when he first walked through the MasterChef doors.

In a season packed with favourites returning for their second chance, could a fan stand at the end and claim the trophy?

Sarah Todd

Sarah Todd’s love affair with Indian cuisine is not new. If you are a MasterChef Australia fan, you have seen her as a contestant on season 6, working her magic around traditional Indian dishes. This year on season 14 of the culinary show, Sarah made it to the top 3 with more new desi flavours she explored during her culinary expeditions across India.

During the competition this year, Sarah began to tinker with the future of her food trajectory, marrying the French techniques of her training with her love of Indian cuisine. Putting all of herself on every plate, Sarah’s experiments with vulnerability revealed new sides to her as a chef and continued to surprise the judges at every turn.

With the end in sight, could Sarah finally prove to the judges, Australia and herself that on top of everything she’s built, she’s also Australia’s next MasterChef?
