With this film Vashu Bhagnani launched R. Madhavan who made his impressive Bollywood debut and we will always be indebted to the makers for this gem! The pretty Dia Mirza made her debut too along with writer, director Gautham Menon who gave us this master stroke. The films soundtracks composed by then Bollywood debutant musician Harris Jayaraj, even today have been the audiences favourites for the last two decades and will continue to be for many decades to come.
Call it the power of ideal casting, stellar performances, mesmerising music or just crisp direction, Pooja Entertainment gave us a film that is PURE LOVE! The movie a remake of Tamil superhit ‘Minnale’ was crafted with love and honesty and was evident with its powerful story-telling. Pooja Entertainment who is known to give us soul-soothing tracks and albums is single-handedly responsible for giving us this remarkable music album that has been the audience favourite for the last two decades and will most certainly be for decades to come. RHTDM’s music struck the right chords with the audience and the love ballads still continue to rule the playlists of both millennials and Genz Z alike!
Here we look at three songs from the film that even after two decades still hum the strings of our heart :-
Zara Zara
‘Where words leave off music begins’. The ultimate fan favourite, this song not just ignites your senses and evokes passion but also continues to inspire various renditions. From flute to acoustic this eternal song even after two decades has fascinated musicians and fans alike and boasts of a plethora of renditions.
Sach Keh Raha hai
Where Zara Zara speaks of passion, Sach Keh Raha hai emotes the pain of a heart-broken lover. It has been the go-to song for anybody who has ever felt deep hurt in love and needs a song to express their feeling. This song has literally risen to be the break-up anthem of the past two decades!
Dil Ko Tumse Pyaar Hua
A profession of love! The song has been crooned by teenagers in college to colleagues in love at work alike. We all wish we could love SAM (Saif Ali Khan) as much as Maddy when he sings this song but then alas he wasn’t Maddy.
However, one big reason why this film still has a special place in our heart and that is the nation’s collective crush on the quintessential lover boy R Madhavan! The film gave us Madhavan Aka Maddy and we couldn’t have been happier. His sizzling chemistry with actor Dia Mirza lit up our screens and gave us a film that has been watched time and again with equal fervour!
