Peekaboo Interiors’ first anniversary celebrations saw the congregation of Chennai’s influencers, interior design stalwarts & influential personalities who enthusiastically gathered to meet Ms. Ronitaa Italia, Editor-in-Chief, GoodHomes and Home & Design Trends, in conversation with the Founder of Peekaboo Patterns & Peekaboo Interiors, Garima Agarwal. The event was attended by the city’s who’s who including Vikram Phadke, Sujatha Satish, Nancy Sathish, Farah Agarwal, Gowri Adappa and Akriti Sachdev, amongst others.
The exclusive, invite-only event started off with an interactive discussion on ‘non-judgemental design’. “Happiness is what should be at home. Whether it’s a brand that’s brought in from Milan or made in Moradabad, it shouldn’t matter as long as it makes us feel happy and at home. The audiences today have reached that maturity in their sensibilities. Interior design is a great space to be in right now and non-judgemental design is what everyone is waking up to today.”
Ms. Ronitaa went on to talk about the importance of interior designers & architects today who are influencing the way we spend our lives at home, for the better. After all, first, we shape our homes, and then our homes shape us. “The naturalist movement is only getting bigger. Both interior designers and clients are embracing the rules of biophilic design with rooms benefitting from natural light, colour schemes inspired by nature and a lot of indoor house plants.”
The event ended with an interactive Q&A session with Ms. Ronitaa effortlessly fielding questions from Chennai’s top architects & interior designers who also enjoyed a lovely tour of Peekaboo Interiors, India’s first Show Home that has seven themed zones for children between 0-18 years.
