Anthargange is a beautiful rocky hill. Located in the Kolar district of Karnataka, in the Shathashrunga mountain range. It’s just about 70 km from Bangalore. The mountain is at an altitude of 1712 meters. The volcanic rocks and boulders, small caves and dense plantations make it a great place get away for trekking, rock climbing and cave exploration enthusiasts.
The literal meaning of Anthargange is in Kanada is ‘Inner Stream’ or Ganges from the deep’. The name refers to the perpetual spring that flows through the rocks from the middle of the mountains. The beginning of this stream is still a mystery. It also houses the Kashi Vishweshwara Temple which attracts devotees as well.
