You might feel that drinking milk at the beginning of the day is nutritious. But milk being heavy indigestion can leave you prone to stomach aches and heartburn as well. According to Ayurveda consuming milk as an end of day drink. It helps you winded-up and induce sleep hormones in your body.

Many of us have the habit of drinking milk in the morning as a routine. Have you ever thought that we have been doing it wrong? Milk is better consumed at evening or night time.As we all know milk is a calcium-rich drink. Starting your Day with Milk

Having a bowl of cereal with milk poured or consuming a milk based drink to start your day but it might be heavy if you ignore. Having whole fat milk only make you feel heavier at the start of the day. This may not act as a full breakfast that has a little more fibre in it (like oatmeal) to bulk it up or a richer protein source like eggs which keep you satiated longer.

Ayurveda suggests avoiding overload of your digestive system in the morning. This may lead stomach aches or heartburn as well, due to the load on your digestive system.

Having warm poached fruit or cooked vegetables or little milk into an oatmeal porridge (you can also choose nut milk instead) is right to consume at the start of the day. This is to help ease your body into the day ahead and loading with foods that release energy slowly (low glycemic foods)  like whole grains and fruit and vegetables.

It’s Better: Consuming Milk at Night Time

Drinking milk at night time is a good idea to make your body switch from active to relaxed mode.
