Actor Rajinikanth today urged the distributors to take suggestions from experienced people in the industry before buying a movie for a huge price.
Speaking at the audio launch of Vikram Prabhu starrer Neruppu Da at thespian Sivaji Ganesan’s residence Annai Illam today, Rajinikanth said, ‘Distributors should not cry foul after buying a movie for exorbitant prices and then struggle to market the movie’.
He said that a producer will try to sell his movie at any cost through aggressive marketing. ‘It is up to distributors to make money out of it’.
Neruppu Da is maiden production venture of Sivaji Ganesan’s grandson Vikram Prabhu.
Rajinikanth said, ‘With the blessings of Sivaji Ganesan, I am confident that Neruppu Da will become a huge hit’.
Echoing Producers Council president Vishal’s view that social media reviewers should delay the review of newly-released movies to help the film get a decent opening, Rajinikanth, said, ‘There are a lot of good things a movie has. So reviewers should be more conscious and should highlight them. As making movies is our duty, criticism is yours. And we are not going to stop that’.
Earlier, speaking on the occasion, Vikram Prabhu said, ‘The title Neruppuda was chosen since I play a firefighter in the movie’.
The first copy of the movie’s audio CD was released by Rajinikanth and was received by Sivaji Ganesan’s sons Ramkumar, Prabhu and Giri. Actress Nikki Galrani, music director Sean Roldan, cinematographer RD Rajasekar, stunt choreographers Super Subbrayan and Dilip Subbrayan were present on the occasion.
Producer Kalaipuli S Thanu, actors Sathyaraj, Vivek, Dhanush and filmmakers Vikraman, P Vasu and Prabhu Solomon graced the event.
