Amidst speculations of his entry to politics, Rajinikanth today shot a letter to his fans urging them to be disciplined. Those who involve in activities that would bring disrepute to the Association will be removed immediately, he said.
His letter, a copy of which was released to the press, said, ‘Sudhakar, the president of the association is empowered to dismiss those whose acts would tarnish the image of the fans club’.
It may be recalled that during his speech at fans meet here, Rajinikanth, said, ‘I had earlier given support to a party (DMK-TMC alliance) in 1996. It was almost a political accident. My fans then even helped that party win. Following which, my name came to be associated with politics.’
‘Politicians and some of my fans began to use each other after 1996. Even money was exchanged at that point, and some people liked the taste of currency too much. After that, in subsequent elections, these people claimed that I was supporting a political party, just so they could make money. But I don’t support any political party. I have been pushed to reiterate that I don’t support any political party ahead of every election.’
