The real name of the waterfall is Bhim Nala Falls or Bhema Falls.
Well, the title itself creates curiosity to know more about the naturally gushing waterfall. Located on the road connecting Lachung to Yumthang Valley in Lachung (Lachung is a district in North Sikkim), the waterfall has been named after the ‘Big B’. To our surprise, the locals of the place named the waterfall as Amitabh Bachchan because it is very tall and is one of the tallest waterfalls in Sikkim. It has been visited by several people and travelers and is listed amongst the illustrious spots to visit in Lachung. Well, we might be surprised to hear about this waterfall being named after “The man.”
Being a small picturesque hamlet, Lachung is located an altitude of 8,610ft. It takes almost 118kms from Gangtok and 13 kms from Lachung approximately to reach. However, this spectacular waterfall is a sight to be visited and amuse at. An ideal place to capture the moments and have the merriment filled splashes to touch your soul. This tall waterfall is known for its natural beauty amidst the green foliage and for its hypnotizing magnificence. It offers an amazingly palpable feel of nature when you drive your jeep or car to cross over to the other side of the place.
Meanwhile, our BIG B does not know about this amazing waterfall that was named after him. He just noticed when a fan tweeted a picture posing in front of the waterfall stating its name. Surprisingly, our megastar just retweeted and questioned whether the waterfall named Amitabh Bachchan really exists. Later, when he got several replies from his fans as ‘Yes’, Big B was spellbound and left shocked. Well, that’s how our senior Bachchan reacted to the waterfall and even there is a saying that the waterfall got its name after Bachchan once visited the place for a shoot.
