Sandhan Valley is referred to as the Grand Canyon of Maharashtra and also called as “the Valley of Shadows” because at a few places the width between the rocks is less than three feet thus obstructing the rays of the sun casting shadows. This is a part of Sahyadri mountain range and Sandhan is situated near beautiful Bhandardara region near village called Samrad. It’s a combination of unique trek experience and adventure activities like rappelling, trekking and many other adventure events.
This water carved valley also has Ratnagad and Ajoba mountain ranges around it. Going back to basics, it is the quintessential tent-pitching camp where food is cooked in campfires with the aroma filling the air around. The trek takes five hours to finish with activities like rappelling to really get your adrenaline pumping.
Accessible time of the year is between November to February as the climate is cool and pleasant. Visiting this place during monsoons to be avoided – due to heavy rainfall.
Accommodation is in the tents by the campsites in the area or even in the open if you’re an experienced trekker. This is generally a two day trip.
