Leica India Hosts ‘Leica Connect: Conversations on Seeing’ with Vineet Vohra and Kamna Dhankhar

Leica India hosted an evocative edition of Leica Connect titled ‘Conversations on Seeing’ bringing together photography enthusiasts, storytellers, and creative minds for an intimate dialogue on the art of visual storytelling. Held at the Performance Hall, DLF The Camellias, the evening featured renowned Leica Ambassador Vineet Vohra and Leica Scholar Kamna Dhankhar as the key speakers.

The session explored the deeper nuances of photography moving beyond technique into the realms of observation, emotion and narrative. Through a series of engaging conversations and image-led discussions, both speakers unpacked the idea of “seeing” as an evolving, intuitive process shaped by patience, presence and perspective.

Reflecting on her journey, Kamna Dhankhar shared how her approach to photography has transformed over time from capturing simple moments to seeking layered, complex narratives within a single frame. She emphasized the importance of being present, describing photography as a meditative act, one that requires mindfulness and a deep connection with the moment. According to her, the Leica philosophy resonates most with individuals who value detail, intentionality and the beauty of slowing down.

Vineet Vohra, known for his distinctive street photography, spoke about the art of Leica India Hosts noticing the extraordinary within the ordinary. He highlighted that developing a photographic eye is less about training and more about cultivating awareness. “It’s not about looking harder, but seeing deeper,” he said, underscoring the role of instinct shaped by years of experience. He also touched upon the interplay between spontaneity and intention, describing how intuition leads the moment while an ingrained sense of composition and storytelling gives it meaning.

Both speakers acknowledged the role of Leica as more than just a tool but an enabler of honest and immersive storytelling. Its simplicity, they shared, allows photographers to remain fully engaged with their surroundings, fostering a more intimate and intuitive creative process.

The evening concluded with an engaged audience interaction, reinforcing Leica Connect’s commitment to building a community that celebrates thoughtful visual expression and meaningful conversations around the art of seeing
