403 Forbidden Bar known for never doing things the usual way is turning its space into a full-blown matcha playground this May. As part of its Override DAYSHIFT series, the bar is hosting a one-day-only takeover with Sakura Matcha Bar and mixologist Aman Dua and it’s anything but your typical Sunday scene.
If you’ve been following Sakura Matcha Bar, you’ll know they’ve built a cult following around slow, ceremonial Japanese matcha. Founded by Yashvika V, the brand has stayed rooted in mindfulness and craft. This pop-up marks the first time that experience steps outside the café—and into a cocktail bar.
What makes it click is simple: matcha works here. Its earthy bitterness pairs effortlessly with spirits, creating cocktails that are balanced, nuanced, and surprisingly easy to go back to.
It’s relaxed, a little immersive, and exactly the kind of plan you make when you want something different—but not overcomplicated.
