Experts say that coconut oil is being used in many natural beauty products. It’s for a good reason: It’s naturally antibacterial and antifungal, coconut oil for skin is an excellent moisturizer, it can penetrate hair better than other oils, and, well, it smells like cookies. All you need is Raw (and preferably organic) virgin coconut oil.
To soothe dry hands
Coconut oil can do wonders on your dry and parched hands. Put a little amount of extra virgin coconut oil into your hands after washing your hands to keep them soft and moist.
As a cheekbone highlighter
Just sweep a small amount of organic coconut oil on top of makeup and leave it. This makes your skin glowing than usual. That’s why natural makeup brands use coconut oil as a base ingredient in their formulas.
To shave your legs
It’s a great antimicrobial alternative for shaving cream for your legs and even underarms, it’s less expensive and natural. Its skin-soothing properties will leave your legs looking hydrated (but never greasy).
As a deep-conditioner
Most of the conditioners contain coconut oil because it’s better able to penetrate hair (and prevent protein loss) than mineral and sunflower oil, according to research. Apply a quarter-size dollop to your hair, comb it, and then pile it into a loose bun. You’ll want to place a soft towel over your pillow or sleep in a shower cap. In the morning, shampoo as usual with a gentle cleanser.
To remove eye makeup
The organic coconut oil does a great job, it breaks down waxy, inky eye makeup, by leaving the delicate area hydrated, too. Take a cotton ball put some oil onto it and gently sweep over your eyes, do pay attention to your under-eyes as well. It works on waterproof mascara too!
As a body moisturizer
According to a study, it found to be effective in increasing hydration and reducing water loss in the seriously dry skin. It’s a great healthy and natural beauty lotion for us.
To clean your face
Research says that it works great for atopic dermatitis, many women swear by its use as a nighttime moisturizer for their face, too. Double-cleansing method: Just rub the oil in circular motions all over your face and neck, giving yourself a gentle massage. (If you’re adult-acne prone, avoid this technique unless you know your skin tolerates coconut oil.)
Before bedtime apply some coconut oil over your lips, this hydrates and to heal chapped lips caused by cold and dry weather.
