In a strategic push aligned with India’s booming infrastructure development, BharatBenz has launched an all-new range of next-generation heavy-duty trucks aimed at the country’s fast-growing construction and mining sectors. The company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Daimler Truck AG, introduced the HX and Torqshift series at a grand event held in Chennai.
With India’s construction and mining industry projected to surge from $16 billion to $45 billion by 2030, BharatBenz is positioning its latest offerings as high-performance, fuel-efficient, and durable solutions tailored to meet the sector’s evolving demands.
HX Series: Built to Withstand the Toughest Terrain
The newly launched HX series features two powerful models: the 2828C HX and 3532C HX. Designed specifically for demanding off-road applications such as quarrying, tunnelling, and rough haul roads, these trucks offer:
-
2828C HX: 280 hp, 1100 Nm torque
-
3532C HX: 320 hp, 1250 Nm torque
Both variants deliver exceptional gradeability of 60%, supported by Hill Hold Assist for stability on steep slopes. Designed for durability and operational efficiency, they come equipped with unitized front axle bearings, wind deflectors for improved fuel economy, and ECE R29-03 certified cabins for enhanced driver safety.
Other key features include:
-
Driver State Monitoring System to detect fatigue
-
Inter-axle and inter-wheel differential locks
-
IRT440-11 rear axles and bolster bogie suspension
-
Heavy-duty G131/G131HD 9-speed gearbox
Torqshift Series: Automation Meets Mining Demands
Tailored for the mining sector, the Torqshift series introduces two new models—2832CM and 3532CM—both equipped with Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) to ensure seamless gear shifts, minimize driver fatigue, and enhance fuel efficiency in harsh operational conditions.
Key benefits include:
-
Greater comfort during long haul operations
-
Reduced turnaround time
-
Improved control in challenging terrain
The AMT feature makes these trucks especially suitable for operations involving coal, limestone, and iron ore transportation.
