Yi Chennai to Host the YUVA Entrepreneurship Summit & Bharat Billion Impact Challenge National Finals in Grand Partnership with IIT Madras, Headstart & Startup Singam
Young Indians (Yi), the youth movement of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), has signed a landmark MoU between Young Indians (Yi) and IIT Madras and is set to host a flagship National YUVA Entrepreneurship Summit in Chennai — uniting 700+ young innovators from across India in a powerful platform designed to accelerate innovation, leadership, and youth-driven entrepreneurship.
Day 1(Nov 27th) witnessed the signing of a MoU between Yi and IIT Madras, forging a transformative alliance to catalyse student innovation and early-stage startup development nationwide. This partnership integrates young entrepreneurs into IIT Madras’ cutting-edge innovation ecosystem — including the Centre for Innovation (CFI) and Nirmaan — providing access to mentors, prototyping facilities, and seed-funding pathways. The MoU was signed in presence of Tarang Khurana, (National Chairman, Young Indians), Arun Rathod (National Vice Chairman, Young Indians) Pradeep Chenthilkumar (Joint Chair, Entrepreneurship Young Indians) Varan Mittal (Chair, Young Indians Chennai Chapter), Prof. Satyanarayanan Seshadri (Head – School of Innovation & Entrepreneurship IIT Madras) and Prof. Murugaiyan Amritalingam (Faculty Advisor, School of Innovation & Entrepreneurship)
As part of this collaboration, Top 18 startups out of 150+ National entries registered for Bharat Billion Impact Challenge (BBIC) underwent a certified Startup Bootcamp focusing on Deep Tech, Fundraising and Entrepreneurship at IIT Madras Research Park. This was done under mentorship of Prof. Krishnan Balasubramanian, Prof. Thillai Rajan, Mr. Gopal Raman, strengthening their business models and pitches ahead of the national finals. Top 3 BBIC winners will receive pre-incubation at Nirmaan, IIT Madras, while the remaining teams will be supported through ecosystem partners — Headstart and Startup Singam who will further strengthen mentorship pathway.
Day 2(Nov 28th) will feature pitch fest, speaker sessions, workshops, and insightful knowledge talks by eminent leaders including C.K. Kumaravel (Co-founder & CMO, Naturals Salon & Spa), Pravin Shekar (Chairman & CEO, KREA),Balachandar R (Co- Founder, Startup Singam), Arun Nair (CEO, Startup Singam), Dilip Krishna (Founder & CEO, Carpe Diem), Vidya Ragu (Founder, Himalaya Calling), Nandita Sundareswaran ( Director, Frelish Foods Pvt Ltd), Janet Rajan (Founder, Growth Collective), along with several distinguished speakers and panelists from across India as part of the grand YUVA Entrepreneurship Summit, hosted at Rajalakshmi Institute of Technology (Yi Chennai YUVA College).
This high-impact national initiative reinforces Yi Chennai’s commitment to empowering India’s youth with real-world exposure, entrepreneurial pathways, and opportunities to innovate at scale — building the country’s next generation of innovators, founders, and nation builders.
