Forget roses, grab a cape: Chennai Comic Con 2026 invites fans to “Fall in Love with Fandom” this Valentine’s Weekend

This Valentine’s Day, Chennai is trading traditional candlelit dinners for capes, cosplays, and comic books. Comic Con India returns to the cultural capital of South India on February 14th and 15th, 2026, at the Chennai Trade Center (CTC), Nandambakkam.

Presented by Maruti Suzuki Arena and powered by Crunchyroll, Chennai Comic Con 2026 is reimagining the season of love. The event offers a high-octane alternative for couples, friends, and families to celebrate their shared passion for anime, gaming, and pop culture.

Headlining the international lineup is the legendary Ron Marz, an acclaimed comic book writer with a 30-year legacy. Fans can get up close with the man behind iconic runs on Silver Surfer, the co-creator of Green Lantern Kyle Rayner, and a contributor to massive franchises like Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2. Joining him are 16 outstanding Indian creators, including Savio Mascarenhas, Tinkle’s hero-maker and Group Art Director at Amar Chitra Katha; Prasad Bhat, Bangalore-based illustrator and founder of Graphicurry, known for his iconic vector caricatures; Shubham Khurana, marketer by day and undercover comic vigilante by night whose relatable, sarcastic comics on work life have taken Instagram by storm; and Rajesh Nagulakonda, whose illustrations and concept art have shaped over 150 murals in Ayodhya. Together, they represent the very soul of India’s comic, illustration, and visual storytelling scene.

Beyond the panels, the main stage will be buzzing with a curated lineup of entertainment designed to keep the “Valentine’s vibes” high. Laugh along with stand-up heavyweights Azeem Banatwalla, Vivek Muralidharan, Daniel Fernandes, RamKumar, and Kumar Varun. People can also enjoy the musical excellence featuring live performances by Chennai’s own hip-hop sensation Kenzo Y2K, the captivating performance by multilingual singer and composer Célinedee Matahari and concert partners Louis Lancien and Olga recognized for their brilliance in artistic depth, and elegance in French musical scene captivating stage presence.
