ThoughtLoom by Palam Silks Presents Silk and Statecraft A Scholarly Exploration of Textiles, Power and History

ThoughtLoom, the cultural initiative by Palam Silks, presents an intellectually rich evening titled “Silk and Statecraft” — a compelling conversation that journeys through the hidden history of textiles through the lens of the Arthashastra and the Nayaka courts.

Curated in collaboration with Aparna Vidyanath, the event will feature eminent historian, author and L&D expert Dr. Pradeep Chakravarthy (PhD – LSE & JNU), author of 11 books and a noted speaker on platforms including Netflix, TEDx and History TV.

Through this engaging talk, Dr. Chakravarthy will unravel how silk and textiles were not merely objects of beauty, but instruments of economy, diplomacy, governance and cultural expression across historic Indian courts.
