A Movement Beyond Borders

Founded in 2006, The Sisterhood Group has consistently undertaken extreme challenges to raise funds for charitable causes, including dragon boating across the English Channel, competing in the Amazon raft race, and participating in the Marathon des Sables. To date, they have raised over £1 million for philanthropic initiatives.

Speaking at the flag-off, Emma Sayle, Founder of The Sisterhood Group, said:
“Our mission goes beyond adventure, it’s about empowering women, building networks, and creating a better future for children. We are proud to partner once again with MMRT42 and LC7 to drive meaningful change where it matters most.”

From Fundraising to Tangible Impact

Last year’s collaboration translated into measurable outcomes on the ground. Funds raised were channelled into impactful initiatives, including:

  • Establishment of a dedicated Women’s Skilling Unit providing vocational training and financial literacy programmes
  • Construction of thoughtfully designed classrooms for the differently abled, ensuring accessibility, safety, and inclusive learning environments

What began as a 1,000 kilometre journey has evolved into lasting infrastructure, sustainable programmes, and renewed hope for underserved communities.

The Legacy of Service

For decades, MMRT42 and MMLC7 have been at the forefront of community service in Chennai. As part of Round Table India’s Freedom Through Education initiative, they have built over 75 classrooms impacting more than 3,000 students. Their initiatives also include women’s skill training, anaemia and cervical cancer prevention programmes, and the establishment of smart classrooms, science labs, and computer labs across schools in the region.

Siddharth Shankar, Chairman of MMRT42, stated:
“Our mission is to ignite lasting change by empowering minds and transforming communities through education. Together with The Sisterhood Group, we are building futures, unlocking potential, and multiplying our impact to create opportunity and hope at scale.”

Nanditha Vikram, Chairperson of LC7, added:
“It’s no secret that women are stronger together. Our partnership with The Sisterhood Group proves that when like-minded women unite with purpose, meaningful transformation becomes inevitable.”

Driving Change, One Kilometre at a Time

As the 35 entrepreneurs embark on their journey from Chennai to Goa, the rally stands as a powerful testament to international collaboration, women-led leadership, and purpose-driven action.
