Tamil Nadu Tennis Association (TNTA) Celebrated its ’33rd Annual Day 2026′

 The Tamil Nadu Tennis Association (TNTA) celebrated its 33rd Annual day at the Madras Cricket Club.  The function was well attended.
B Venkatasubramanyam, Honorary Secretary TNTA, welcomed the dignitaries and the tennis gathering and expressed his gratitude to the sponsors, district associations, clubs, coaching academies and tournament organisers for their contribution to the game.  He said, “we immensely proud that our President is to receive the prestigious Padma Bhushan Award.  Mr. K R Ganapathy the senior most Tennis player and former vice President TNTA honoured Vijay Amritraj on the occasion.”
Vijay Amritraj, President TNTA in his address spoke of Tamil Nadu’s distinction of successfully conducting the highest-ranking event tennis event in India – The Chennai Open International Women’s Tennis championships – a WTA 250 last October. He especially thanked the Government of Tamil Nadu and the sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu and all the sponsors for their support.   He further appreciated the good progress of the Next Level Program, which now supports four boys and five girls. He particularly acknowledged the progress of Diya Ramesh who progressed from being 800 in the world rankings to 140 and played in the Australian Open Junior qualifying event while Rethin Pranav participated in the junior event of three Grand Slams – Wimbledon French Open and US Open.
J.Meghanatha Reddy, I.A.S. Member Secretary, Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu (SDAT) elaborated of the SDAT support schemes for sports and expressed hope that with concerted efforts of the Association and the Government of Tamil Nadu players will shine not only nationally but also internationally and keep up Tamil Nadu’s dominance in the game.
Vijay Amritraj and Meghanatha Reddy presented the awards to the deserving players. N. Kumar, Chairman Corporate Board Sanmar Group, Vijay Sankar Chairman Sanmar Group, and Lakshmi Mahadevan gave away the League prizes,
