Will Corona’s hit multiplexes say bye forever?

Everything has changed because of the coronavirus, the way people have become completely different, the stock market has come down completely and the world economy is going towards recession. Every region is suffering something or the other, but one area is drowning in its entirety and that is cinema. There are no shoots due to the lockdown, half of the films have stopped shooting and films have been made but are not being released because the whole country is currently locked in their homes.

When Corona started spreading in our country, the first cinema houses and multiplexes were closed. Whereas people had already done a lot of work in multiplexes due to the OTT platform, now due to Corona’s attack, they have completely stopped. The condition of the multiplex has become like a moat in the front because people have become used to watching movies on the OTT platform in this lockdown.

Due to the coronavirus, people are now afraid of going out of their homes. Along with, there are more than 30 OTT platforms in India, there is an application for everyone and there are countless movies, web shows on it and people are keeping themselves busy by watching. Its fervor has increased so much that now everyone likes to enjoy films and shows by sitting alone on this application.

Seeing the growing popularity of the OTT platform among the people, now film producers are also talking about releasing their films on it. Recently, Akshay Kumar’s film Lakshmi Bomb will be released directly on the web, not released in the cinema hall. Along with this, Jahanvi Kapoor’s film Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl and Arjun Kapoor Parineeti Chopra’s film Sandeep and Pinky Farrar are also being talked about releasing directly on the web.

In such a situation, the multiples association has requested all the producers, artists to wait for the lockdown to end and then release the films in the multiplex itself. If all the films are released on the web, then no one will come to see the movies in the multiplex and due to this, the business of the multiplex will come down completely.

In this lock-down caused by Corona, the business of the OTT platform has grown significantly. Now everyone likes to watch movies on their phones or laptops alone. Does it mean that after the lockdown is over, people will say multiplex goodbye? Given the increasing awareness about sanitation, will people enjoy films in their homes in a clean environment?

All this will tell the time to come, what will change in our life, our surroundings, our mortal spirits, our thoughts after the corona hit!
