“Raghav’s story reminded me of my bond with my father,” shares Ishwak Singh while discussing his character’s journey in Amazon MX Player’s Mitti

Some stories reflect your truth so closely, they stop feeling like fiction. Mitti, streaming now on Amazon MX Player, Amazon’s free video streaming service, is one such story. It’s a tender, powerful drama about finding your way back to where you belong. Headlined by Ishwak Singh, along with Shruti Sharma, Diksha Juneja, Yogendra Tiku, and Alka Amin in key roles, the critically acclaimed series follows Raghav, a high-flying advertising executive whose world shifts dramatically after the death of his grandfather. As he travels back to his village, Dol Chappra, to perform the last rites, he’s pulled into a deeply personal journey of guilt, grief, and renewal.

For Ishwak Singh, one of the most personal aspects of the story was the relationship between Raghav and his Dadu — a bond that echoed deeply in his own life. “Raghav’s story reminded me of my bond with my father.  He’s an architect, and I studied architecture too. He hoped I’d take his work forward, and for a while, I did. But acting was always my calling. I eventually moved to performing arts. He always supported me, but I could sense his quiet wish that I’d carry on what he had begun. There’s a moment in the show where Dadu wonders if things would’ve turned out differently, had Raghav stayed. That really hit close to home for me. I’ve felt that myself — the feeling that maybe I let my father down by not walking the road he laid for me.”

Mitti is now streaming for free exclusively on the Amazon MX Player app on mobile and Connected TVs, on the Amazon shopping app, Prime Video, Fire TV, and Airtel Xstream.
