GAURAV GUPTA UNVEILS HIS BRIDAL COUTURE COLLECTION, ‘QUANTUM ENTANGLEMENT,’ IN PARTNERSHIP WITH CHIVAS LUXE COLLECTIVE PERFUMES

Internationally acclaimed couturier Gaurav Gupta unveiled his Indian Couture 2025 collection, titled “Quantum Entanglement,” in Mumbai on August 8th, 2025, at the Jio World Convention Centre, marking a historic debut for his bridal couture line, crafted for the sacred moment of the wedding vows. Conceptualised as an immersive exploration of the modern Indian wedding, the experience took 500+ guests on an emotional journey across three interconnected spaces: from cocktail hour to vows to reception, all in a single evening of theatrical fashion storytelling.

Titled “Quantum Entanglement”, the collection drew from the theory that two particles remain eternally connected, mirroring the emotional synchronicity of Indian wedding rituals. Marking a bold new chapter in modern Indian weddings with Chivas Luxe Collective Perfumes, Gupta translated this into couture through mirrored silhouettes, dual-toned pairings, and embroidery echoing shared memories.

The showcase opened with Gupta’s signature cocktail and reception ensembles, a category he has elevated for nearly two decades. This was not a retrospective but a visionary expansion of codes he has honed over the years. Saree gowns, sculpted lehengas, and intricately engineered gowns inspired by Art Nouveau architecture and glacial planes were envisioned not just for celebration but as ceremonial statements. The colour story flowed from soft blush and champagne gold to graphite, obsidian black, and the house’s signature electric blue; each hue chosen for emotional resonance. Garments were crafted with radical precision: brocades handwoven in Banaras over 200 days were embroidered with crystal webs, hand-cut florals, gilded zari, and antique jewellery-inspired detailing. Lace developed in Chantilly, France, was reimagined into futuristic forms. Semi-precious stones, mother-of-pearl inlays, and woven textures were embedded like reborn heirlooms, mapped with temple-like intricacy. From laser-cut 3D florals to handwoven corsetry piping each technique reflected a deliberate fusion of Indian textile mastery and future-facing innovation.

Menswear embraced sculptural sharpness and ceremonial edge, tailored for the modern groom. Classic tuxedos, bandhgalas, and jackets were reimagined with unexpected twists like safety-pin and hand-woven lapels. In obsidian, graphite, and midnight navy, the pieces featured animal-esque embroidery, planet-shaped beads, and orbiting metal pins—cosmic embellishments that brought a mythic, future-facing energy to traditional silhouettes.

The show’s crescendo came with a 10-piece bridal segment; marking a bold new chapter in Gupta’s design journey. Known for his avant-garde couture, he now reimagines Indian bridalwear through an architectural, emotional, and deeply contemporary lens. “This is a deeply personal reflection on ritual, memory, and reimagination,” he shared. Rich Vermilion Red lehengas shimmered with over 60,000 bugle beads, zardozi florals, and embedded Preciosa glass crystals- each placement catching the light like constellations across the body. Pastel creations in blush, sage, and ecru offered a more ethereal expression, featuring 3D embroidery and soft ombré beadwork. The house’s iconic cascading lehenga silhouette (first introduced a decade ago) was reborn in gilded Banarasi brocade, sculpted for the bridal aisle in near-mythic proportions. Cathedral-style veils, trailing in translucent layers, added an otherworldly dimension, designed not to veil the bride but to elevate her presence. These veils became architectural halos, amplifying the silhouette’s drama while echoing the collection’s themes of cosmic connection and sacred union. Gupta’s new language of bridal couture honored tradition while boldly rewriting its vocabulary – empowering the bride to feel timeless, transcendent, and entirely her own.

In a powerful next chapter, Gupta introduced his first-ever groomswear capsule: ten meticulously constructed ceremonial outfits featuring architectural tailoring, sculptural kurtas, and modern bandhgalas. Rendered in pearl, blush quartz, and ivory tones, these looks offered a refined yet emotionally expressive new blueprint for the Indian groom – rooted in craft but charged with modern energy.

The show closed on a cinematic high with Janhvi Kapoor & Sidharth Malhotra walking in engineered couture that captured Gupta’s vision of the new-age wedding—timeless, evocative, and unapologetically modern. Styled by Anaita Shroff Adajania, the duo embodied a wedding story told in future tense.A dramatic crescendo to the couture narrative, the showstopper looks embodied sculptural elegance and cosmic symbolism.

Partnering with Gaurav Gupta on “Quantum Entanglement” is a perfect marriage of bold design and bold notes. At Chivas Luxe Collective perfumes, we embrace opulence and regal moments, and this collaboration exemplifies just that.”

Marking a historic first, Gaurav Gupta unveiled a seven-piece capsule with Italian luxury maison Rene Caovilla—the Venetian brand’s debut collaboration with an Indian designer. The iconic serpentine Rene Caovilla shoes were re-imagined using brocades, beads, and hand-embellished to mirror the Gupta universe. Spanning shades from Vermillion Red to Electric Blue, the designs fused cultural heritage with innovation. The collection launches in January 2026 at Gaurav Gupta flagships and Rene Caovilla boutiques worldwide.

Rene Caovilla spokesperson said, “The partnership began naturally. After meeting at Paris Haute Couture Week last January, we started a beautiful creative dialogue and a growing connection. Both collaborations’ passion for both cultures and both firms’ long-term loyalty were great.”

Beauty took centre stage at Gaurav Gupta’s couture show, with Nykaa Luxe as the exclusive beauty partner, shaping a bold new language for the modern bride. This season, Gen Z brides are redefining tradition, silver lids glinting like constellations, electric blues commanding attention, dramatic liners, and unapologetically vivid blush. Partnering with Gaurav Gupta and celebrity makeup artist Namrata Soni, Nykaa Luxe crafted fearless, high-impact looks that echoed the couture’s architectural precision and emotional depth. Beauty didn’t just complement the garments; it became part of their structure, their energy, and their narrative.

“At Nykaa Luxe, we believe beauty should be as bold and intentional as the women who wear it,” said a Nykaa spokesperson. “Our partnership with Gaurav Gupta was an exploration of artistry without restraint, where colour, texture, and form spoke a language of confidence. These looks were not accessories to the couture, but its equal counterpart, carrying the same spirit of vision, precision, and unapologetic self-expression.”

Hair, too, became a medium for movement and message. With Kérastase as the official hair partner, Celebrity Mitesh Rajani crafted sculpted yet fluid hair using the brand’s Elixir Ultime. Each model’s hair echoed the collection’s duality, structured but sensual, sharp but soft.

“At Kérastase, we adopt a care-first philosophy because we truly believe that your hair is a canvas. Strong, vibrant, and utterly fearless, it allows you to sculpt any style, embody any look, and express every facet of yourself without a single reservation. Our collaboration with Gaurav Gupta symbolizes timeless luxury and unveils the future of bridal beauty – elegant, iconic and bold” said Anjali Pai, General Manager, Kérastase India.

Over 30 diamond pieces were shown on the runway, each matched with a silhouette to match its movement. Jewellery was a second skin and future heirloom. Forevermark and Gupta value rarity and meaning—every diamond was responsibly sourced, precision-cut, and set to reflect light and heritage.

Shweta Harit, Global CEO Forevermark said, “It’s a proud moment to present Forevermark’s High Jewellery collection in a showcase that unites avant-garde couture with the brilliance of our finest diamonds, brought to life through Gaurav Gupta’s visionary lens. Each piece is crafted with the world’s most beautiful and responsibly sourced diamonds, reflecting our shared values of craftsmanship, innovation, and creative excellence. This collaboration captures Forevermark’s international spirit of design and celebrates the synergy between bold fashion and timeless elegance.”

Backbay came on board as the hydration partner for the evening, founded by Samiksha and Bhumi Pednekar, as India’s first sustainably packed water.

Gaurav Gupta’s return to India was more than a homecoming—it was a cultural reset. He redefined the modern wedding as emotionally intelligent, timeless in form, and free from formula. Here, couture became more than fashion—it became memory, meaning, and movement. This wasn’t just a show of garments; it was a display of gravity—a story woven in fabric, light, and the energy that binds us across time.
