Australian singing sensation and The Voice Australia 2024 winner Reuben De Melo delivered an unforgettable debut performance in Chennai on Wednesday, 3rd December 2025, leaving audiences captivated with a night that seamlessly blended global artistry with local flavour. The showcase, “A Night with Reuben De Melo,” was produced by Privé 11 by Leo Coffee, supported by Invest and Trade Western Australia, Government of Western Australia, and presented by Strikr Integrated, with ArtVizha as art partner and Radio Room as venue partner.
The event drew an impressive guest list featuring key dignitaries and cultural leaders, including Dr Ian Martinus, Investment and Trade Commissioner for India Gulf region, Invest & Trade Western Australia, Government of Western Australia, Mr David Eggleston, Deputy Consul General, Australian Consulate-General Chennai; renowned Australian filmmaker Christopher Watson, Cinematographer Dan Holliday, and Reuben’s wife and manager, Olivia de melo, who joined him for his India tour. The evening also saw attendance from notable Indian personalities such as RJ Balaji, singer Ranjith, cricketer Murali Vijay, top influencers, socialites, and members of the city’s creative community.
Reuben performed with a dynamic band featuring singer Aishvarrya Suresh, vocalists Gopi and Shruti, drummer Vinay, keyboardist Siddharth and Samyukth on the guitar, who elevated the evening with layered harmonies and rich instrumentation. The concert highlighted Chennai’s diverse musical identity, celebrating English, Tamil, and Hindi influences through a series of immersive cross-cultural segments.
The audience was treated to an eclectic mix of performances, including Reuben’s powerful English covers of “Billie Jean” and “Shallow,” which drew enthusiastic applause. A special highlight was an intimate moment on stage where Reuben performed an original composition alongside his wife Olivia, showcasing their musical chemistry. The night also featured a vibrant and crowd-favourite rendition of “Humma Humma”, performed with the entire band, adding a spirited local touch that resonated strongly with the Chennai audience.
Born in Goa and based in Western Australia, Reuben has fast become one of Australia’s most compelling emerging voices. His journey from working in the mining industry to national recognition has inspired audiences across the country. His India tour, he shared, has added a deeply emotional and artistic dimension to his story , strengthening his bond with India while opening new creative pathways.
Reuben’s global momentum continues with an upcoming single featuring LeAnn Rimes, a new EP in the works, and a national Australian tour scheduled for 2025.
