New Delhi Gets Its First Customer Co-Created Menu as Kampai Celebrates 7 Years of Modern Japanese Dining

Kampai, Delhi’s leading modern Japanese restaurant, under TasteShop Pvt. Ltd., marks seven years with the launch of the city’s first-ever feedback-based menu. This milestone marks not only seven years of redefining Japanese dining in the capital but also a new, community-inspired approach to menu creation.

Over the years, Kampai has built a loyal community that loves its authentic Japanese flavours and warm hospitality. For its 7th year, the restaurant turned the tables, inviting its guests to co-create the menu. The culinary team, led by Kampai’s chefs, hosted 10 prominent food enthusiasts for tasting sessions and incorporated feedback from regular diners through monthly review sheets. Every suggestion helped shape what’s now Kampai’s most dynamic and inclusive menu yet.

The new menu is a complete revamp, blending Kampai’s Japanese foundation with playful Asian and fusion influences. Diners can expect bold new dishes such as Sandos, Sushi Tacos, Crispy Nori Bites, Prawn Sesame Toast, and Cornets, all elevated with house-made sauces, Japanese condiments, and signature Asian flavour twists.

Desserts, too, have taken centre stage – from the theatrical Pull-Up Cake to the melt-in-the-mouth Cotton Cheesecake. The much-awaited Mochi finally joins the menu in three signature flavours. With dishes priced from ₹500 onwards, the new menu is designed for sharing and celebrating.

“Seven years have been an incredible journey of growth, creativity, and community. This new menu is a reflection of everyone who has been a part of Kampai’s story – from our team in the kitchen to the guests at our tables. It’s as much theirs as it is ours,” said Avantika Sinha Bahl, Founder of Kampai.

With modern luxe interiors inspired by Japanese minimalism, Kampai offers a warm yet refined dining experience across both locations – a 74-seater Aerocity space at Worldmark 1 and a sophisticated outpost at DLF Promenade, Vasant Kunj. Guests can also enjoy two private dining rooms, including one in traditional tatami style, making it ideal for intimate celebrations. The restaurant’s upbeat yet elegant vibe is complemented by carefully curated music, creating an atmosphere that’s fine dining with a social soul.

Beyond Kampai, TSPL hospitality’s portfolio includes celebrated names like Basque in Dehradun, and the legendary Embassy Restaurant in Delhi, alongside its luxury catering arms, EBK and Embassy Catering, building a strong reputation for culinary innovation and excellence across India.

As Kampai steps into its next chapter, its new menu stands as a celebration of how thoughtful listening can redefine the dining experience: where every dish reflects the voices, tastes, and stories of the people who helped shape it.
