This Tamil New Year, step into a celebration where tradition meets indulgence as Waterside at Feathers Hotel presents “Puthandu on a Plate”, a specially curated festive lunch that brings the soulful flavours of Tamil heritage to the table. On 14th April 2026, guests are invited to usher in the new beginnings with a thoughtfully crafted menu that blends nostalgia, regional specialties and festive favourites.

The culinary journey begins on a refreshing note with Nungu Shorbet, followed by comforting bowls of Paranki Parupu Charu and Veda Kozhi Charu. A vibrant spread of salads such as  Thengai Mangai Pattani Salad, and Raw Mango Salad sets the tone for the feast, celebrating the season’s freshest flavours.

Guests can then savour traditional starters including Melagu Vadai, Kavuni Arisi Paniyaram, Naatukozhi Pachamilagai Varuval, and the robust Pallipalayam Mutton Chukka, alongside Nethili Karuveppilai Varuval, offering a delightful medley of textures and aromas.

The main course showcases the richness of Tamil festive cuisine with highlights like Vellai Attu Seeraga Samba Biryani, Nattu Kozhi Chops, Aracha Masala Yera Kuzhambu, and Nei Kadai Chukka (Quail). Traditional accompaniments including Vathal Kuzhambu, Vepampoo Rasam, Murungai Mandi, and Kathirikai Paruppu Kootu ensure a wholesome and authentic experience, complemented by live counters serving Parotta, Pasi Paruppu Dosa, and Fried Garlic Podi Idli.

No festive celebration is complete without sweets, and the elaborate dessert spread promises indulgence with classics such as Paalkozhukattai, Badam Halwa, Mysore Pak, Paruppu Boli, Adhirasam, Kesari Rasmalai, and Semiya Payasam, bringing the meal to a truly celebratory close.
