Bengaluru, November 21, 2025: Swiggy (Swiggy Ltd, NSE: SWIGGY / BSE: 544285), India’s leading on-demand convenience platform, today announced that it has expanded Food on Train to 122 stations across the country, further reinforcing its commitment and focus on this offering.. The new stations include Anantpur (Andhra Pradesh), Madurai (Tamil Nadu), Alwar (Rajasthan), Kozhikode (Kerala), Khurda Road (Odisha), Yesvantpur (Karnataka), and Gonda (Uttar Pradesh).In addition to this, Swiggy also announced that it has increased the pre-order window to 96 hours (4 days) from 24 hours, ensuring more convenience for the travellers.
Swiggy’s Food on Train service has become a customer favorite and this was also evident in our trends during the festive season this year, from October 16, 2025 to November 03, 2025. With millions travelling home to celebrate with their loved ones, Swiggy’s Food on Train network ensured travelers could enjoy familiar festive flavours even while on the move. The most-ordered dish was Biryani, closely followed by breakfast and comfort-food favourites such as Masala Dosa and Burger. Other popular items included Pav Bhaji, Margarita Pizza & Corn Chaat. 35% of travellers who used the Food on Train app during the festive season ordered at least one sweet or dessert with their meal — with favourites like Triple Chocomelt Waffle, Tender Coconut Ice Cream, Gulab Jamun, Biscoff Cheesecake Jar, Rasgulla, and Black Forest Pastry topping the list. A reminder that even while travelling, Indians never skip the sweetness of celebration — and Swiggy’s Food on Train made it possible for the travellers to enjoy that festive indulgence delivered right at their train seats.
In terms of brands preferred by travellers ordering via Swiggy’s Food on Train, Haldiram’s, Paradise Biryani, A2B, Hotel Aryaas, Annai Restaurant, Rominus Pizza & Burger, and McDonald’s were ranked among the most-ordered eateries during the festive period — showcasing how Swiggy’s Food on Train feature brings travellers reliable access to both heritage local kitchens and leading national restaurants on a single, scalable platform.

The trend shared that food choices varied across regions, revealing India’s diverse festive appetite. In the North, travellers leaned towards indulgent dishes like Biryani, Aloo Paratha, Red Paprika Pizza along with the ever-popular Aloo Tikki Burger. Travelers in the Southern part of India celebrated with comfort classic breakfast food such as Dosa, Curd Rice, Pongal, Poori Sabzi and Idli, while in the East, Swiggy observed demand for Thalis and rice bowls. Meanwhile, in the Western part of India, travellers savoured the region’s signature street-food spirit with Pav Bhaji and Vada Pav. While The Garib Rath Express (Chennai to Delhi, 12611), Seshadri Express (17209), Sabari Superfast Express (20630), and Kerala Express (12626) topped the charts with the highest festive-day orders, Swiggy also shared that 28 out of 72 travellers in one coach of the SMVT Bengaluru – New Tinsukia Special Fare Festival Special simultaneously munched on food from Swiggy’s Food on Train service, with all meals delivered at a single station!
