Ta.Ma.Sha – Asian Veg Café Opens in Gunrock with a Retro Twist, Serving Bold Asian Flavours in a Unique Veg-Only Space
Gunrock just found its new flavour-packed hotspot with the launch of Ta.Ma.Sha – Asian Veg Café, a one-of-a-kind dining experience that brings together the magic of Asian vegetarian food with a quirky retro vibe, open-air charm, and soulful live music.
Serving bold, flavour-rich pan-Asian dishes – all 100% vegetarian – Ta.Ma.Sha reimagines comfort food with everything from spicy stir-fries and slurpy noodles to pillowy baos and handcrafted mocktails. The menu travels through the streets of Bangkok, Seoul, Tokyo and beyond – without ever compromising on a vegetarian lifestyle.
The all-new menu is built around food trends that are currently taking over social media – featuring a mix of Korean favourites, globally inspired dishes, and vibrant, summery creations designed for the Hyderabad heat. Some of the delicacies from the menu include the spicy-sweet Korean Chilli Tofu, laced with honey and paired with a crunchy carrot-onion salad, and the flavourful Korean Paneer, which balances umami and spice beautifully. The Green Thai Curry with rice offers warmth and comfort, while the Japanese Cottage Cheese Katsu puts a creative vegetarian spin on a classic meat dish. For pizza lovers, there’s the Veggie Thin-Crust Pizza loaded with gooey cheese and fresh toppings, and the bold Kimchi Pizza that brings a playful twist to the table. To beat the heat, refreshing drinks like the light floral Rose Cooler and the crisp Cucumber Fizz are instant hits. Those with a sweet tooth can indulge in the decadent Ice Cream Bun Sandwich drizzled with chocolate sauce or the ever-popular Thai Mango Sticky Rice. The café also features a separate Jain menu, offering thoughtfully curated versions of bestsellers – ensuring inclusivity for all palates.
But what truly sets Ta.Ma.Sha apart is the ambience. Step into a café that blends the nostalgia of the past with the spirit of today. Imagine vintage televisions, curated bookshelves, retro cameras, a guitar casually strung on the wall, and soft bamboo lights dancing overhead — every nook is an aesthetic moment, every angle made for the ‘gram. A screen behind the live music stage streams nostalgic visuals, while local artists light up the space with soulful acoustic performances on select evenings.
The café is spread across a breezy open-air dining space and a cozy indoor retro lounge – ideal for lazy brunches, reading dates, content shoots, or cozy night-outs. And for a little extra fun, there’s even a pickleball court, inviting guests to play, relax, and linger longer.
Ta.Ma.Sha is also pet-friendly, welcoming furry companions to be part of the café’s laid-back, community vibe.
“We wanted to create a place that’s more than just a café – something that speaks to the soul,” says Mr. AK. Solanky, Co-founder of Ta.Ma.Sha. “It’s about celebrating great vegetarian food, live music, old-school aesthetics, and the joy of hanging out offline again.”
“Our vision with Ta.Ma.Sha was to bring together all the things we love — delicious Asian vegetarian food, great music, and a space that sparks creativity and connection,” adds Mahender Vyas, founder of Ta.Ma.Sha. “We wanted to craft an experience that feels both nostalgic and new, where every visit is memorable.”
Whether you’re a lifelong vegetarian, a flexitarian, or just veg-curious, Ta.Ma.Sha promises a flavourful escape where good food, great vibes, and even better memories are always on the menu.
