Launched in 2008 by the Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation (KSTDC) in collaboration with Indian Railways and IRCTC, the Golden Chariot is South India’s only luxury train. Named after the iconic stone chariot in Hampi, it symbolizes Southern India’s grandeur, temple architecture, and regal past.

Designed with opulent interiors reflecting the architectural brilliance of South Indian dynasties such as the Chalukyas, Hoysalas, and Vijayanagara Empire, this train offers an unforgettable travel experience that combines culture, heritage, comfort, and adventure.

 Routes and Itineraries

The Golden Chariot currently offers three exquisite travel circuits, covering a mix of temples, wildlife, beaches, palaces, and backwaters.

Route: Bengaluru – Bandipur – Mysore – Halebidu – Chikmagalur – Hampi – Badami – Goa – Bengaluru
