BTS RM and V Discharged: Emotional Return & Fan Joy

A Day to Remember for Every ARMY

On June 10, 2025, the sky over South Korea seemed a little brighter, the music a little louder, and ARMY hearts a whole lot fuller. Kim Namjoon (RM) and Kim Taehyung (V)—two of BTS’s beloved members—have officially completed their mandatory military service and returned as proud civilians.

It’s more than just a discharge. It’s a monumental moment that brings the dream of a full BTS reunion one giant step closer to reality.

The Journey: Duty, Honor, and Growth

 Enlistment Day: December 11, 2023

Both RM and V enlisted at the Nonsan Training Center, along with bandmates Jimin and Jungkook. From that moment, fans watched with pride as the two began their 18-month service.

 Elite Achievements

  • RM completed training and served in the military band under the 15th Infantry Division in Hwacheon. He not only played instruments but also brought leadership and calm to the unit.

  • V, always known for going the extra mile, joined the elite Special Duty Team (SDT) under the 2nd Corps Military Police in Chuncheon. His duties included combat training, anti-terror drills, and advanced field missions.

Both were recognized as “elite trainees,” a prestigious honor given to only a few recruits. Naturally, ARMY wasn’t surprised.

 Farewell with Music and Dance

The morning of June 10 was filled with joy and emotion. At around 9 AM KST, both RM and V emerged from their respective bases.

RM’s Saxophone Serenade

RM greeted fans and fellow soldiers with a heartfelt saxophone performance as he exited. His message was simple but powerful: gratitude for the journey, and love for the ARMY that waited.

V’s Dance of Joy

V, always the performer, gave fans a quick celebratory dance, proving that even after months of military rigor, his energy and charm remain untouched.

Photos of RM and V together post-discharge instantly went viral—fans calling it the “reunion that healed hearts.”

A Soldier No More, A Star Reborn

The reactions from fellow soldiers have been heartwarming. One comrade said of V,

“He shined brighter than anyone else in the unit.”

RM’s Instagram post said it all:
“2023.12.11 – 2025.6.10. Thank you.”

Their humility, strength, and commitment earned not just the admiration of fans, but of every Korean citizen.

 What This Means for BTS

Now, with Jin, J-Hope, RM, and V officially discharged, only Jimin, Jungkook, and SUGA remain in service. Their scheduled discharge is expected by late 2025, and HYBE has hinted at a full-group BTS comeback soon after.

In the meantime, BTS’s 12th Anniversary FESTA will be held in June—with RM and V now able to join the celebrations in spirit and possibly in person.

 From ARMY, With Love

This discharge isn’t just a calendar event. It’s the moment fans across the globe have been waiting for—the beginning of BTS’s return.

Their military chapters are closed, but what lies ahead is a brand new era—an era of music, maturity, and even more meaningful artistry.

Dear RM and V,
Welcome home. We missed you. We’re proud of you. We’ll be right here—cheering, crying, and loving every beat you drop next.
