INTERNATIONAL NURSES DAY 2021

THE HISTORY AND SIGNIFICANCE

The role of nurses has to be innate with anyone devoted to their service. The bond between the patients and nurses could move towards the progressive healthy path. Although doctors are doing their best to save the life of an individual, the rest lies in the hands of the nurse as they attend to the patients’ needs for 24 hours. Currently, the pandemic has unveiled the real superwomen and men of the medical service. Having said that, International Nurses Day has been marked on May 12th and you must know the history associated with it.

The history takes back to the days of an English Nurse named Florence Nightingale who was
born on 12th May 1820. As a social reformer and a statistician, Florence emerged to be the great
power of modern nursing. So, the pandemic (COVID-19) has disclosed several Florence
Nightingale(s) around the world as they have been the mainstay of the medical and health service
world. Since nurses play a crucial role in the development of the health of the patients, they
deserve to be celebrated and appreciated by the entire world especially during this tough
pandemic phase.
