Studio Kaleidospace, a Chennai-based design firm helmed by Principal Designers Daphne Dmello and Nirali Bathia, proudly unveils its latest interior project—The Saffron Thread Studio. Completed in December 2024, this commercial hair studio called Bglam located in Marathahalli, Bangalore, spans 1,200 square feet and offers an immersive experience in beauty, transformation, and design.
Transformed from a conventional glass cubicle, The Saffron Thread Studio emerges as an open-plan haven where timeless elegance meets the playful essence of pop art. This vibrant reimagination presents a sophisticated yet spirited environment, designed to redefine the traditional hair studio experience.
Design Narrative:
Upon entering the studio, visitors are immediately captivated by the striking saffron flooring—a bold element that unifies the entire space. The floor contrasts harmoniously with a backdrop of classic nudes and browns, while tomato red and pastel pink accents evoke dynamic visual interest and celebrate pop art inspiration.
A sculptural partition, evocative of undulating waves, artfully divides the consultation area, creating a flowing transition between spaces. The partition serves a dual purpose, showcasing product displays that seamlessly blend form and function.
Adding to the studio’s unique charm, spherical art installations on the walls echo the contours of the human head and hair, a subtle nod to the studio’s core service. The heart of the space is anchored by an organically shaped seating element upholstered in lush pink fabric, which serves as a focal point for clients and visitors alike. Above, a sleek Mobius strip lighting fixture crowns the central area, symbolizing infinite creativity.
The seamless design extends to interconnected rooms that flow naturally without rigid boundaries, blurring the lines between creativity and technical expertise. Concealed storage solutions and thoughtfully curated art walls enhance the sense of openness, creating an environment that is both functional and visually expansive.

The dynamic duo behind Studio Kaleidospace are Daphne Dmello and Nirali Bathia, whose combined expertise forms the foundation of the studio’s innovative approach.
Daphne Dmello holds a Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from the prestigious CEPT University (Centre for Environmental Planning and Technology), Ahmedabad. Under the mentorship of leading industry figures such as Bijoy Ramachandran from Hundred Hands, Bangalore, she honed her craft and further developed her professional skills with renowned design studios in Chennai. In 2019, Daphne established Studio Kaleidospace with a vision to craft immersive spatial stories while embracing the problem-solving challenges of complex design projects.
Nirali Bathia, a graduate in Architecture with a specialization in Interior Design from JNAFAU, Hyderabad, gained valuable experience at top design firms such as Siraj & Renu and Simple Minds (Vinod Bachala) in Hyderabad. Her work at Peekaboo Interiors, Chennai, specializing in boutique children’s spaces, equipped her with a meticulous approach to project management.
United by their shared belief that design is a harmonious blend of form and function, intuition and discipline, imagination and materiality, Daphne and Nirali bring a distinctive perspective to each project. With a deep respect for craftsmanship and context, they deliver thoughtful architectural and design solutions across residential and commercial spaces.
