Over 2,800 Runners Unite for a Drug-Free Future at SIMS SN Run 2026

The SIMS SN Run 2026 – Anti-Drugs Marathon (2nd Edition), presented by Chennai SNDP Union and Sreenarayana Charitable Trust in association with Radio Mirchi, was successfully held at the Omandurar Medical College Ground.

The marathon witnessed an enthusiastic participation of over 2,800 runners, competing across 10K, 5K, and 3K categories. More than just a sporting event, the run served as a powerful platform to raise awareness against drug abuse and promote a healthier, drug-free society.

The event was held in association with Savourit – 100% Durum Wheat Roasted Vermicelli, and curated by Radio Mirchi, bringing together community, fitness, and social responsibility.

The marathon was flagged off in the presence of eminent dignitaries including Dr. Balaji, Director of Medical Sciences, SIMS Hospital, A. V. Anoop, Managing Director of AVA Group, along with several distinguished personalities from various sectors.

The event was led by Chairman Baiju Gopalan, Convenor T. K. Unnikrishnan, and Treasurer C. D. Sivadasan, whose leadership ensured the seamless execution of the marathon.

The initiative was supported by a strong network of partners, with Tamilnad Mercantile Bank Ltd as the Banking Partner, promoting its message “Be a Step Ahead.” The event was powered by Casagrand (Mercury) and Yasko Shirts & Trousers, while Print Partner Dinamalar amplified outreach.

Wellness and healthcare support were provided by 4 U Well (Wellness Partner) and Vasan Eye Care (Vision Partner), with hospitality managed by Taj Coromandel.
