Suta Bazaar – All the Way from Bombay to Namma Chennai

On the onset of the Diwali Sale, Suta Bombay was here in Chennai for the last weekend on the 14th, 15th and 16th of October. The brand which is owned by two sisters – Sujata and Taniya, has been established in 2016. With deep-rooted love for art and culture, the sisters introduced SUTA to the world. The blend of magical syllables of the sisters’ name, the love for varied forms of arts, and SUTA directly means threads, gave birth to the most popular and exciting brand – SUTA BOMBAY. The team was here last weekend with scintillating collections to give no other choice to Chennai people but to throng to their collections in Humming Room.

SUTA Bombay in Namma Chennai:

SUTA – a mindful lifestyle brand, is always a dream drape for many women. The brand that leaves us all fascinated. It was so exciting to experience the collections in Chennai. Although many may have ordered online, it was good to touch and feel the collections of fabric that is straight from the native weavers across the nation. SUTA’s first time in Chennai did not seem to be the very first time as the city keeps its warm welcome forever. Speaking of which, the collections were displayed in a more authentic and classic way that gave a complete festive vibe to the visitors. SUTA brought captivating collections of dazzling sarees, contrasting and gorgeous blouses, accessories and menswear all way from Bombay. It was pretty good to see the brains behind the brand, Sujata and Taniya, meeting the requirements of customers. They also incorporated tailors to alter the blouses and other outfits. The whole scenario depicted the passion for art, culture and tradition of the two sisters and their dedication towards the work.

To our surprise, the brand started with only two weavers in the house and now “it has been working with 16000 weavers across India and work for 365 days”, said Taniya.  She also added that this was her first time in Chennai though Sujata visited earlier. SUTA stands apart from other products when you feel the love when you drape it and each product is the beautiful outcome of the sisters’ love for the brand. They produce distinct designs of sarees and contrasting blouses with a blend of tradition and contemporaneity. They are mostly modelled and photographed by the sisters themselves. So, if you miss this time, we hope, SUTA will definitely be back again in Chennai and never miss it.
