Bhumi Pednekar pauses #PlasmaWarrior initiative after government removes plasma therapy from Covid-19 treatment

Bhumi Pednekar has been very active and forthcoming in helping the country fight the second wave of the Corona Virus. She is doing her best to help the people in need in these dire times. Through her initiative #PlasmaWarrior, she has been trying to connect people to donate plasma throughout the country.

The actress has now halted her initiative as per the government new guidelines of removing plasma therapy from Covid-19 treatment. The actress posted on her social media and wrote, “To comply with government directives we are pausing #plasmawarrior. Thank you to everyone who came forward and helped someone in need:)”

On Monday, a government-appointed task force removed plasma therapy from the treatment protocol for adult Covid-19 patients. The use of plasma therapy has been removed even as an ‘off label’ treatment.

The actress herself fought the battle with corona and after her recovery, she called herself a Corona Warrior. She started a new initiative of helping people fight this deadly disease.

On the work front, she will be seen in Badhaai Do which is the second instalment of the superhit film Badhaai Ho. It features Bhumi Pednekar and Rajkummar Rao in lead roles. The film will again deal with a social subject where Bhumi will be seen playing the role of a PT Teacher who aspires to play Handball for the country while Rajkummar will be seen playing the role of a tough cop. The film is directed by Harshvardhan Kulkarni and produced by Junglee Pictures.
