Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla Celebrate 40 Years with a Maximal Celebration at Mubarak Baug, their New Flagship Store
Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla are synonymous with some of the most unforgettable moments in fashion history. Be it their reinvention of Chikankari, their enthralling visions of mirror-work, their gradient accents in Multicolour Resham, or their masterpieces in Vasli, the designers are credited for not only preserving embroidery traditions but elevating them into art forms of pure opulence. Their four decades in fashion gleam with accolades and audacity, including couture creations favoured by the most illustrious luminaries in India and across the globe.
Reflecting on this monumental milestone and the philosophy that built their empire, Abu and Sandeep share: “Because we are untrained, nothing is impossible. We want our legacy to symbolise the undeniable fact that dreams do come true. We are ever grateful to our clients, friends and the countless others who have always believed in us.”
Their 40 years in fashion celebration at Mubarak Baug, their fantasy world of a flagship, transformed the heritage space into a spectacle of surreal splendour. A group of 50 models, led by Abu and Sandeep’s original old and new muses including Madhu Sapre, Carol Gracias, Sheetal Mallar, Ana Bredmeyere, Dipannita Sharma, Alicia Kaur, Rahul Dev, Gautam Kapoor, Bikram Saluja, Kelly Dorjee, Gaurav Arora arrived in limousines, dressed in the most dazzling AJSK couture. After blending with the crowd, they broke into not one, but two fashion flash mobs, delivering a mesmerising show of glamour and movement that also included professional dancers. Choreographed by Lubna Adams and Rian Mistry, one of the presentations commenced at the store’s iconic Archival Museum, merging the past and the present into one radiant moment.
Abu Sandeep’s friends and clients arrived in their cherished AJSK couture to support the duo. Dimple Kapadia, Sonam Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Genelia Deshmukh, Riteish Deshmukh, Navya Nanda, Pinky & Sanjay Reddy and many more — sparkled in AJSK creations. Nita Ambani, Isha Ambani, Shloka Ambani, Radhika Ambani made spectacular style statements in Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla and maximal pieces from Iconic Jewels.

Mubarak Baug recently opened its doors on 15th August, the house’s 40th brand anniversary. Conceived in the most cherished corners of Abu and Sandeep’s imagination, it is located at the iconic Framjee Cawasjee Institute in South Mumbai, spanning 20,000 square feet of gilded grandeur. Designed by ‘A Wonder Room’, Abu and Sandeep’s interior decor vertical, the store embodies the designers’ rare genius for bringing their inner world into the outer one. With India as their eternal muse, the space becomes an opulent expression of intense creativity. A kingdom of style that stands as a richly layered Indian sourcebook, reflecting four decades of mastery with an ever-renewing enthusiasm.
Abu and Sandeep recently launched Iconic Jewels with Dimple Kapadia as their muse. Conceived as a work of art, Iconic Jewels is a brilliant new chapter that illuminates their design legacy with the same creative philosophy that has enabled the most unforgettable creations in their atelier. Commenting on their collaboration with Dimple, they add, “With Iconic Jewels, we are celebrating not only our legacy, but also our friendship with Dimple. She is the epitome of timeless beauty and that is precisely the essence of Iconic Jewels. A celebration of true bonds and glamour.” Iconic Jewels are displayed at The Vault at Mubarak Baug.

She wears a front open Khadi coat and a sari from the ‘Do Rukha’ range, featuring the finest hand-embroidery in Multicoloured Resham along with iconic jewels from Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla
Sonam Kapoor
Sonam Kapoor wore a 48 Kali, classic ivory Chikan Angrakha hand-embroidered over 20 months in Lucknow by an all-female artisan team. The garment features the most intricate Chikankari done in diverse Jaali motifs, large borders and tassels. The workmanship is infused with crystals, pearls and sequins edged with gold and silver bugle beads as well as tiny pearl borders.
The Angrakha is paired with two dupattas, of which one is paired with handmade chamois satin borders and Dori Resham tassels finished with crystals. The other reflects understated elegance in the form of pearl, bugle-beaded borders.
This was teamed with paan motif statement earrings from the Chikan range of Iconic Jewels by Abu Sandeep @abujanisandeepkhosla
