Tata Literature Live! Sports Yatras – The Story of Indian Paralympics | 14th May 2021

14th May 2021: Subsequent session of Tata Literature Live! Sports Yatras revolves around –
The Story of Indian Paralympics. Paralympics is the world’s greatest sporting platform for
differently-abled athletes and are run by international non-profit organizations. India made its
maiden appearance at the Paralympics in 1968 in Tel Aviv, Israel. At the Rio 2016 Paralympic
games, India bagged four medals. In the light of the ongoing pandemic, the upcoming Tokyo
2021 Paralympics is likely to be a closed-door event.
Featuring renowned Indian Paralympics who will talk in-depth are – Ms Manasi Joshi, Para
Badminton Champion, Mr. Pramod Bhagat, World No.1 in SL 3 Para Badminton and Mr.
Sukant Kadam, World No.5 in SL 4 Para Badminton . They’re going to be joined by Deepthi
Bopaiah, CEO of GO Sports Foundation. The panel will be live in conversation with Mr Boria
Majumdar, Sports Historian and Author.
The session also will feature Mr Boria Majumdar’s book – ‘Dreams of a billion – India and
therefore the Olympic Games which he has co-authored alongside Mr Nalin Mehta.
