Chennai Lasik Laser Foundation has launched SMART SIGHT NOVA, an advanced lenticule extraction system designed to provide precision laser vision correction with enhanced comfort, safety and shorter recovery time.
The technology was inaugurated on Sunday, August 23, at M.N. Eye Hospital, Besant Nagar, as part of the foundation’s 40th-year celebrations. Cine actor Vani Bhojan and Padma Shri Dr. Mayilvahanan Natarajan attended the launch as chief guests.
According to Dr. M. Nishanth, Clinical Director and Refractive Surgeon, SMART SIGHT NOVA is the first technology of its kind to be introduced in Tamil Nadu. The system is designed to support advanced vision correction through a minimally invasive lenticule extraction approach, with a focus on precision and patient comfort.
The launch marks another step in the foundation’s efforts to expand access to advanced refractive eye-care technologies in Chennai. The new system is expected to offer patients a vision correction option with reduced downtime while maintaining an emphasis on safety and clinical precision.
The introduction of SMART SIGHT NOVA comes as laser-based vision correction continues to evolve, with newer technologies focusing on improving treatment accuracy, patient experience and recovery.
