Be it as a model walking the ramp for leading couturiers around the world or becoming an overnight sensation in her debut film Cocktail movie fame, Diana Penty sure knows how to make heads turn. It’s been a journey to remember for the actress, who’s got some excellent films to her credit such as ‘Lucknow Central’, ‘Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran’ and ‘Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi’. Having donned the role of a bride countless times on the ramp in alluring wedding outfits, the actress donned the latest cover of Femina Brides Issue and it’s safe to say that she looks absolutely drop-dead-gorgeous. In a cover story that revolved around the diva and all things bridal, Diana, at her charming best, spoke about playing a runaway bride in the 2016 film ‘Happy Bhaag Jayegi’, her dream wedding destination, wedding ensemble, philanthropy, and lessons learned during the lockdown.

Speaking about what attracted her to the role of Harpreet “Happy” Kaur, Diana says, “She was so different; quite the opposite of my own personality. It was just so intriguing to play somebody who is so unabashed and is unfiltered whereas I am very measured. There was something about Happy and I thought ‘I have to play this girl!'”

When it comes to choosing an outfit, comfort takes precedence for the sensitive, astute, and calm Diana. The same holds true even for her bridal wear, for she always prefers to wear something that makes her feel at ease. Speaking about her dream wedding ensemble, she says, “Wedding outfits are absolutely stunning and gorgeous, but they’re also so heavy. I’ve made a mental note to never wear something too heavy. It’s definitely going to be something light, easy, and comfortable. Comfort for me is everything because only then can I have a good time. I don’t want to be tugging at my outfit and, by the end of it, feel my body hurt because of how heavy it is! I really don’t want to be in that position!”.

If her dress has to be simple, so must her dream wedding destination be a place filled with tranquillity. “I haven’t really thought about it, but I generally love the mountains. They’re just beautiful, calm, and therapeutic. It gives me a sense of peace. So, if I could just be surrounded by mountains with just a little nip in the air, I’d be happy.’’
