Sonu Sood’s Kindness Is Again Winning Hearts

Since the lockdown has started in the country due to coronavirus pandemic, actor Sonu Sood is one of the few Bollywood celebrities who have come forward to help people during the time countrywide crisis. From creating a helpline for migrant workers under the ‘Ghar Chale’ initiative to now launching an app to help them look for jobs, he has helped thousands of families across the country.

On Thursday, Sood responded to a news article that was shared by a twitter user about a villager who was forced to sell his cow in order to buy a smartphone for his children’s virtual classes by saying that he’d like to help him out. In his first tweet, Sood wrote, “Let’s get this guy’s cows back. Can someone send his details please”

In his second tweet, he asked Ravinder Sood, the journalist who covered the needy man’s story in his newspaper article, Sood wrote, “Ravinder Ji. Can you please share his details”

The milkman in question is Kuldip Kumar of Jwalamukhi in Kangra district, Himachal Pradesh. His daughter Anu and son Vansh are in Class 4 and Class 2 respectively and their story was first highlighted by journalist Ravinder Sood. His report states that Kuldip requested help from the panchayat as well as banks and private money lenders for a loan of Rs.6,000 but was turned down.

Sood has gained a lot of praise on social media and from people within the film industry for his selfless act during pandemic however, there have also been allegations that his relief efforts are politically motivated, most famously by Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut and Congress leader Nagma.

Rubbishing those allegations, Sonu feels that such baseless allegations only strengthen his resolve to do more, and do better and post the allegations, he was only inspired to do more. Besides arranging buses, trains, and flights for thousands of migrants stranded in different parts of the country.

The actor has also launched a toll-free helpline for migrants to reach out to his team. Also, the Simmba actor has offered his hotel in Mumbai for healthcare workers to stay in, during the Covid-19 pandemic.
