5 Interesting Things About Oscars 2022

The Oscars 2022 was completed on March 27th (Monday), yet it is still the most popular and hot topic on the internet. You’ve probably seen the memes and videos from this year’s largest Hollywood event. The ceremony was hosted by three women, Regina Hall, Amy Schumer, and Wanda Sykes, and the awards were presented by a diverse group of new and familiar stars. So, without further ado, let’s take a look at some of the best moments and most interesting things that happened during the Oscars 2022.

Interesting things about Oscars 2022:
BTS surprised everyone

One of the music industry’s most popular groups unexpectedly came in the middle of the Oscars for a specific section. To be clear, they were not physically present at the Oscars. It was a pre-recorded video message from BTS that was shown during the segment Favourite Film Musical With BTS.

It was all about the group talking about and spreading the love for their favourite Disney and Pixar pictures. RM and Jimin declared that Coco is their favourite animated film, but J-Hope supported Aladdin, starring Will Smith.

Beyonce opened the show

While the entire portion of Beyonce introducing the Oscars is unsurprising given her incredible talent, it became the buzz of the town for two reasons. First and foremost, she performed “Be Alive,” one of the year’s best original song nominations. Second, the song was pre-recorded on the tennis court in Venus and Serena Williams’ hometown.

Beyonce wrote and performed the original song “Be Alive” for Will Smith’s film King Richard. The film depicts the Williams sisters’ lives before they were famous in the world, including their challenges, good moments, and anything else you might need to know.

Will Smith slapped Chris Rock

There’s no need to read this piece if you’ve already heard about the “interesting” incident that occurred at the Oscars 2022. You may have read online about so many supportive comments or tweets to both parties and still be perplexed about what actually occurred. What triggered this event was a crude joke made by Chris Rock, a stand-up comedian, about Jada, Will Smith’s wife, who suffers from a condition known as alopecia.

She publicly discussed her hair loss condition a while ago, and when Chris Rock made a joke about it, she was irritated. Will Smith appeared to laugh at the joke for a moment, but when he saw that his wife was upset, he stepped up on stage and slapped Chris Rock. Everyone was taken aback by more than just the slap. After returning to his seat, he yelled at Chris Rock, “Keep my wife’s name out of your f****** lips!” Many celebrities who were at the event, including Chris Rock (the one who made the joke), were taken shocked by Will’s reaction.

The event had multiple hosts

It wasn’t simply that the event had not one, not two, but three hosts to keep things interesting; the hosts were all female. This year’s Oscars were hosted by three women: Regina Hall, Amy Schumer, and Wanda Sykes, and Schumer made a comment at the start of the show that went viral.

Regina Hall and Wanda Sykes drew attention to the communities from which they come and represent. “This year, the Academy hired three women to host because it’s cheaper than hiring one man,” Schumer added. “I’m representing unbearable white women who call the cops when you get a little too loud,” she added.

First-time winners

Despite a startled reaction from Will Smith as a result of Chris Rock’s joke, he returned to the stage to accept his first Oscar for best actor for his role in King Richard. Jessica Chastain won the Best Actress award for the first time for her work in The Eyes of Tammy Faye. Another highlight was when Riz Ahmed received an award for the best short film of the year.
