Actor and Politician Sunny Deol expressed his grief over four Sikh men from Punjab who died after drowning in a slurry tank at a dairy farm near the northern Italian town of Pavia.

According to British media reports, investigators suspect that the four were choked to death by carbon dioxide fumes from cow manure in Pavia, which is near Milan. They believe that three died after jumping in the tank to rescue a worker who had been emptying it.

The four were identified as Prem Singh, Tarsem Singh, Arminder Singh, and Majinder Singh.

Sunny Deol just took to his social media and expressed his grief, he wrote, “I am saddened to hear about the sad demise of four young men from Punjab who had gone to work in Italy. May their souls live in peace and Almighty give enough strength to the grieved families to bear this irreparable loss”

Further adding Sunny assured that the remains of deceased will handed over to families at Government cost. He added, “I have taken up the matter with @MEAIndia regarding the repatriation of mortal remains of deceased to their respective families at Government costs”

The victims’ wives raised the alarm when the men failed to turn up for lunch on Thursday. They went to the scene and spotted one body in the sewage. The wives then called in firefighters who donned masks and emptied the tank to recover all the bodies
