Visit California is partnering with the National Basketball Association (NBA) for the first-ever National Basketball Associationgamesin India being held Oct. 4 and Oct. 5 at the NSCI Dome in Mumbai.The participating teams are the Sacramento Kings, under the leadership of the NBA’s first India-born majority owner and Mumbai native Vivek Ranadive, and the Indiana Pacers.
Visit California will leverage thestar-studded two-day event to showcase all of the options available for professional sports lovers in California, including attending games and events at the acclaimed Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, home of the Kings.
Four professional basketball teams call California home, though the Golden State’s sports scene goes far beyond basketball.
The state hosts a diverse line-up of world-class sporting events throughout the year including the AT&T Pebble Beach PRO-AM, taken inannually by thousands of spectators on three of the Monterey Peninsula’s premier golf courses.
The BNP Paribas Open, played in Palm Springs, is the largest international tennis tournament outside of the four Grand Slams. The state has successfully hosted the Olympic Games three times, and Los Angeles is all set to host them again in 2028. For motor racing enthusiasts,the prestigious NASCAR Cup Series (National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing) holds two races in California, andthe IndyCar Seriesand NHRA Drag Racing Series hold multiple events every year.
