Met Gala 2023: The Best-dressed Celebs of the Iconic Fashion Event

The most anticipated fashion event of the year finally happened yesterday! Yes, we’re talking about the Met Gala. The gala is all about celebrating fashion art. And, as you may be aware, the Met’s board of directors selects a new theme each year. And the theme must be adhered to by all guests invited to and attending the event. The Met Gala has provided us with many memorable fashion moments over the years. So everyone, including us, was very interested in who wore what.

People have been discussing which celebrities were the best dressed at the event on social media. And we had to join in the fun and voice our thoughts. So, here we are. Let us now take a look at the best-dressed celebrities at the Met Gala 2023, whose outfits have completely altered our brain chemistry.

Met Gala 2023: The best-dressed celebs of the iconic fashion event

Before we begin, the theme of this year’s Met Gala was “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line in Beauty.” It was a tribute to the fashion legend, who frequently wore black and white suits. As a result, the majority of celebrities chose to dress in black and white on the red carpet.

Dua Lipa

Dua Lipa

Dua Lipa, the internet sensation, is one of the Met Gala 2023 co-chairs. So it was obvious that she was going to rock the red carpet look. And she did not let us down. Dua Lipa wore a Chanel couture gown from the Autumn/Winter 1992 collection. It should be stated that it was first seen on the runway by Claudia Schiffer. She added an exceptional Tiffany & Co. diamond necklace as an accessory to the outfit. Schiffer is said to have worn the tweed corset gown for the first time in 1992 as a Chanel bride. The outfit Dua wore was perfectly in keeping with the theme and made her look absolutely elegant and princess-like.

Anne Hathaway

Many fans have come to believe that Anne Hathaway never ages. And she only improves with time. At the Met Gala 2023, she proved it for the millionth time. Wearing Versace, Anne reinterpreted tweed. Donatella Versace reinvented the material, which Chanel made popular, as a plunging, strapless dress. Hathaway wore a crisp white dress with a bodice opening that moved into a high slit. The Princess Diaries actress finished off her look with metallic platform heels. The dress she wore as Mia Thermopolis in the Princess Diaries was also compared by many online fans to her Met Gala 2023 ensemble.

Alia Bhatt

Alia Bhatt, the Bollywood star, confirmed a few weeks ago that she will make her Met Gala debut this year. And it was well worth the wait to see what she wore. The bridal look designed by Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel’s 1992 fall/winter collection served as inspiration for Bhatt’s unique Prabal Gurung gown. Wait, what was that? Chanel’s 1992 fall/winter collection again? Yes! It was inspired by the same Claudia Schiffer’s Chanel bride gown on the runway. And the same gown that Dua Lipa wore on the same red carpet! She had a dreamy appearance thanks to the pearl embroidery on her all-white clothing. She also incorporated Karl Lagerfeld’s personal style into her stylish white fingerless glove.

Natasha Poonawalla

The one and only Natasha Poonawalla was expected to make a spectacular entrance at the Met Gala in 2023. And it appears that she understood what we were saying. Natasha donned a custom Schiaparelli gown made entirely of silver, giving into her love of dramatic, avant-garde style. It was created with long, pointed edges that framed her face, taking inspiration from some looks from Schiaparelli’s Haute Couture 2023 collection. With a sleek ponytail, Poonawalla completed the look and looked stylish, sartorial, and futuristic. She provided exactly the right amount of glam fashion that we were looking for.

Nicole Kidman

Nicole Kidman

Nicole Kidman took over Blake Lively’s usual role on the Met Gala red carpet. Nicole Kidman glowed on the Met Gala red carpet in a breathtakingly fluffy outfit. In the most delicate pinks, she appeared utterly romantic in Chanel couture. The dress had a column-shaped top that dipped into a full train. With a chiffon neck fit that expressed the train as it flowed behind the star, the feathery tulle dress was adorned all over. Kidman completed the look with a pair of basic black strappy shoes to draw attention to the dress, which had a high-low hem designed to even out the dress’s back.

Bad Bunny

Bad Bunny

We have to be honest: we didn’t expect Bad Bunny to completely dominate the red carpet like this. Embroidered camellias flowers on a 26-foot-long taffeta boa train can be seen on Bad Bunny’s personalised Jacquemus outfit. The best detail, however, was a hidden one. Inside his jacket is a specially printed image of Casa Malaparte taken by Karl Lagerfeld in 1997. It was such a nice touch that we almost missed it! The only look of the evening that recognised how versatile Lagerfeld actually was was Bad Bunny’s.
