Bhumi Pednekar Kick-Starts Spit Free India Movement

After turning Climate Warrior, actress Bhumi Pednekar takes the issue of spitting on the roads to a whole new level, in an attempt to bring the nation together in the fight against COVID-19, she launched an anti-spitting campaign that aims at educating people.

The actress Bhumi took to her social media profile and dropped a video, launching the spit-free India campaign and urged others to join. She captioned it, “Have joined the Spit Free India Movement for a healthier & cleaner India. You should too…@pleg4life #spitfreeindia #pledgeforlife #covid19”

In the video, she is seen saying, “We have to defeat Coronavirus and everyone has to join hands! Leave the habit of spitting. We have to save the country! Currently, our country is under the threat of Corona and the fatal disease spreads even by spitting… the way we all have come together to get associated with the Toilet campaign and pledged to make the country clean! Similarly, let’s pledge to make the country Corona free, by avoiding to spit here and there…Do your bit, do not spit. Let’s come together and join the spit-free India movement…”

Earlier, Bhumi kick-started the ‘Climate Warrior’ initiative aimed at the conservation of the environment. She has been roped in by an NGO as the face of spit free India campaign.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Bhumi Pednekar is busy with     Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare and Durgavati.

Durgavati is directed by G. Ashok, which is a remake of his own 2018 Telugu film Bhaagamathie and starring Bhumi Pednekar as an IAS officer, which was played by Anushka Shetty in the original version. The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Akshay Kumar and Vikram Malhotra under T-Series, Cape of Good Films and Abundantia Entertainment.
